The Studio
Vellum & Ink Studio is a firm specializing in residential Interior Design and Computer-Aided Drafting. The studio offers a wide range of Interior Design services, which are customized to fit each client's vision. Vellum & Ink also partners with industry professionals to provide them with professional and accurate drawings for client presentations, permitting, and space planning.
The Designer
Lauren Armstrong is the Principal Designer at Vellum and Ink Studio. She dreams of living in a world filled
with compassion, fur-repelling luxury fabrics, and children who sleep until a respectable hour.
As an interior designer with a Bachelor of Science in Interior and Environmental Design and 10 years of experience, Lauren has worked for luxury furniture and design firms including NEST Modern and RH (formerly Restoration Hardware). She thrives on the blend of logic and creativity required to create spaces that function beautifully and reflect the unique personalities of her clients. She understands the impact of one’s surroundings and believes that a well designed home is one in which people find peace and inspiration.
Lauren is based out of central Illinois, where she is pleased to offer in-person design services to Bloomington-Normal and the surrounding areas. Additionally, she has extensive experience designing virtually at any distance, whether it be across town or around the world.
When she’s not designing for her clients or rendering for fellow design professionals, you'll likely find Lauren partnering with Redspade Architectural, a local industrial arts studio.
INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES
Design Consultation
This conversation may be an initial discussion of your design project or simply a dedicated amount of time to pick a designer's brain on paint selections, basic furniture layouts, window coverings, furniture styles, finish selections, etc.
Full-Service Interior Design
Your designer will be with you from start to finish on your design journey. We will begin with a detailed consultation before moving into design development, product research, presentation, ordering, and project management. When all elements are ready for installation, your designer will be on site to make sure everything runs smoothly. Finally, our team will style your space with finishing touches to make for a picture perfect reveal.
Virtual Interior Design
Vellum & Ink Studio will use your own measurements and photos to design your space. We can talk you through how to take accurate measurements or we can work off of existing architectural plans. Your digital package will include a virtual design board, furniture specifications and corresponding shopping links, as well as a detailed floor plan to assist you with furniture and accessory placement. Virtual design is a perfect option for when you and your designer are separated by distance, busy schedules, or pandemic-related chaos.
Revamp
Re-style your space using your own furniture and accessories. Your designer will meet your home or office with fresh eyes and make you fall in love again with your space and belongings by creatively rearranging items you already have. Because everything is sourced from within the home, the Revamp is perfect for those who already love their furniture but can't quite make it work in their space. It is also a great way to be environmentally friendly and budget conscious.
Organize & Declutter
Do you have Pinterest pantry envy? Does Marie Kondo speak to your soul? Everybody wants a tidy home, but that is easier said than done. Vellum & Ink Studio has the skills and vision to turn your home into the organized retreat you've always dreamed of. No space is too small or too large for us to tackle.
